I am searching for a hard-working senior care provider for an 87 year old gentleman with onset dementia. Ideally you would have a few years of experience, references and live near Vancouver V5M. You must have a clean drivers license, criminal check, your own vehicle and be willing to help with Transportation to take him to the doctor, haircut, and miscellaneous grocery shopping. Must be able to talk about movies and CNN news. He is easily confused on numbers, directions and date details. This is very important. I'm looking to find the right match. I am currently looking for someone who can help my elderly father with activities & mobility exercises. It would be 2 times per week to start in the mornings. (Sunday, Monday, Tues or Thursday mornings would be ideal but I’m open to other days of the week). Your 2 hour session would consist of: - Simple activities to keep my father’s mind active. - Providing companionship with conversations. Prompting conversations/asking questions. - Cueing him to do simple mobility exercises (mostly while he is seated). - Assisting him to get up from wheelchair to using his walker for some standing exercises or assisted walking. - Guiding him through some activities on the iPad. He has some dementia and is slow to process information due to stroke brain damage.
